For Sale: 1977 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT 4x4 Short Bed
As much as I hate to, I need to sell my dad's truck. As the title says, it's a special ordered 1977 Ford F-150 Ranger XLT 4x4 Short Bed. It has slightly less than 100K on the Odometer, but with the tires on it, its just over. The truck was originally a 400M, but that engine was replaced when it failed at 20k in 1980 with a 429 Police Interceptor. The swap was done by my father, a professional fabricator, using all Ford components. In 1994 the 429 was replaces with a 460 Ford Racing Short Block, with 73 lincoln heads, a small cam, roller rockers, holley carb, 3" exhaust, it's a lot to list. The truck has the original Dana 44 3.50:1 Posi (special ordered) a C-6 Automatic backd up by the original NP205 geared transfer case, and a 3.50:1 31 spline semi-floating 9" posi rear. The wheels are 9" wide 16.5s for a 3/4-1 Ton special ordered drilled for the 5-lug patter, with 33x12.5-16.4 BFG Radial All Terrains on them with about 6k miles on them.
The truck is located near Bakersfield California, where it has been it's entire life. There is not a spec of rust, there are no leaks, the truck has been well maintained over the past 30 years, with Amsoil Synthetic fluids since about 1980. The interior is imaculate, the seat has been covered since new and still lokks like it did in 1977. There are no stains, rips or tears. Externally, the truck has the original special order Mallard Green paint on it, it's never been repainted. There are a couple very minor dings.
I have not seen a truck anywhere close to this condition that hadn't been through extensive restoration. You absolutely will not find a nicer truck anywhere. This is a serious sale. The asking price for the truck is $20,000 based on what I've seen restored trucks, not nearly as nice going for. Of course a serious offer would be considered.
