talk about disrespect

so as i was loading a pressure washer into my truck yesterday, my dad points this out to me.

apparently its been like this for a few days. i didnt even notice until he said something. so i asked why he hadnt said anything to them and he said he was about to. i told him ill take care of it in the morning.

so, this morning after i loaded the pressure washer into my truck again, i took care of it.

this is this afternoon when i got home. still just the pole. i wonder if they even realize its missing.

in case you want to know where it is, its in my front seat of my truck.

i dont care what happened. for it to have been there for several days is disrespect to me. the corner was not ripped. they just didnt know how to mount it to the pole. it was held on my those little twisty things that you hold a bread bag together. so, i took care of it for them. i wonder how long its going to be just a pole up there.

I see those where elderly people live. I usually help them fix it. If they were being douchebags I would hold onto it until they ask.

Heck, just go get a couple zipties and hang it back up. Another option is to go to Lowes and buy an inexpensive flagpole with the proper hooks for them. If they ask what you're doing, politely tell them about flag etiquette and that you're helping them out. They may actually thank you.

Look at it this way....at least it wasnt a friggin Mexican flag they were flying.

Gonna throw my 2 cents in,
There are a lot of people that hang the flag in an attempt to be patriotic. The problem is they do not understand the true meaning or the representation of Old Glory. They have never had a family member serve to keep it flying and have never had a loved one not return from this service. They do not feel the swell of pride when she is raised and the National Anthem is playing. They do not feel the sorrow when one of our service men or women return with it draped over their casket. They make an effort but it's half hearted at best. When their flag starts to droop or hang as the one you pictured, they don't realize they are disrespecting all those who served, to them it's just a flag. Sometimes we have to educate these people and even tho we want to do it with a baseball bat we have to do it with the understanding that they are just ignorant. I see our flag mistreated in many different ways and it sickens me to see people burn it in protest but I have to remember that I served to give them the right to do just that. It's times like these that we have to do our best to educate people in regards to properly respecting our flag and if they choose not to,,,,well that choice is what she stands for. Like I said just my 2 Cents.

The big problem I have with disrespect for our flag and what it stands for is these people should not be permitted to stand behind it while walking on it, spitting on it or burning it. If they want to destroy it and want it stands for they should not receive its protection.
