There aren't any "old" numbers or "new" numbers. Nothing is official.. can't figure out why nobody gets that. Ford did not come out and say HEY WE UPPED THE POWER EVERYONE! It is all speculation, rumors, etc! Until or IF Ford announces higher power ratings it wouldn't make sense to just make up any number and put them on a graph. :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang :bang
That graph is inaccurate. Clearly you can see that power was sampled at only a few points then they connected the dots. Notice how in the low/mid range, the ford shows less torque than the duramax, however it miraculously has more horsepower at the same points. Since horsepower is a mathematical derivative of torque, it's mathematically impossible for that graph to be correct. It's very misleading, as they just line through a few points on the duramax's graph and make it appear that the powerstroke outpowers it for the majority of the mid-range, but that I doubt that is the case.
does it really matter? its only a few HP anyways... i dont see what the big deal is, when it comes down to it, a truck is a truck, and it will tow, off-road, cruise, drag race, sled pull, whatever you want it to do
Is 7hp really gona make the difference? nope it wont :thumbsup
