Poor fuel mileage!!!

Ok guys I have tried changing the fuel filters, air filters, and I changed the transfer pump (the fuel pump, not the injector pump) and I still only get 15 mpg, this is how I calculate it fill truck up run truck to half tank fill up write do the gallons of fuel I get and divide buy the mile I put on since last fill up, is this right? I normally only get 220 to 225 miles to a half tank (35 gallon tank) what else could be wrong??????????

fill out your sig, cause if you have a dually with 410's that's about the mileage you'll be lookin at, also if you're having problems with your auto trans, that could suck some fuel efficiency too, what truck do you have? tell us and we can help more

anyways, just to throw some stuff out there, your timing might have slipped, it happens to older trucks

Am I the only one or is that cajuncummins pic sick?!! Your milage is on the money for REAL world milage, of course you will get better just cruising down the freeway at about 60. That's when I get 700 miles per tank 35 gallon tank.
Around town 10 to 13 MPG is average! Remember your truck wieghs between 5000 and 8000 lbs thats 3 regular cars!! With that in mind 15 to 20 mpg is AWSOME!!

06 daully with intake exhuast and a few power mods
Looking for 700hp Any ideas on a turbo that can also pull 20k??

To check if anything is wrong, fill-up then drive about ten miles on the highway at 60mph then fill back up and calculate.

Have you replaced the overflow valve? I'd also time it to 16 cause that will help.

i have not replaced the overflow valve, i did replace the lift pump though, also my milage is quite a bit better with red fuel in it, and my truck does have 3.55's in it not 4.10s so im not sure how im getting worse milage then the fella with 4.10s

You might checkout that overflow valve since even if the lp can make the predsure the valve will dump it before it gets high enough. I'd help ya w/ that timing but Id be a hell of a long road trip

I think its cnvrted2cummins' tint that helps, keeps things cool and flowing well Those are pretty good #'s

Like my truck I'm getting 19-20 MPG normally which is about 300-320 miles to half tank.

There is several thing that effect MPG numbers... Timing, fuel quality, over dosing with additives, tire size, lift kits, gearing, driving style, weather, speed etc...

I would say you extremely low in MPG number though...
