2004 turns over, wont start

The ol lady emailed me with this problem about a half hour ago, I am on a ship on the other side of the world. Truck has 73,000 miles, ran yesturday, turns over fine, 40 degrees F out, block heater is plugged in, plenty of fuel, oil is fine. She said it just cranks and cranks, no smoke, nothing. Anything anyone can think of that she can check before I have her call the wrecker?

His: 2000 F250 XLT crew cab, 6" lift, too many miles, banks big hoss bundle

Hers: 2004 F350 Lariat super cab, stock, 73,000 miles

If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen. - quote by Samuel Adams

Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end

had an ambulance at work do the same thing. it's a 2004 also with the 6.0l. not sure what the outcome is yet. havent gotten the truck back from the shop. it is pretty embarrasing having to call a tow truck to the hospital to tow you back to the station though lol.

Come to find out she didnt have it plugged in after all, thought I'd be mad at her for not trying that first. A few hours later she went into town and the idiot light came on at startup, she took it to the family mechanic to have the code pulled, code 22 missfire/glow plug?? (i'm relaying this from emails she texted me from her phone) Mechanic said hes seen this before on these, and that the harnass connections on the glowplug control module collect moisture and the connections get fouled and that she just needs to unplug the connections and clean them up. Sounds like its worth a try.

It makes sense that it started hard (at 40 degrees) with no glow plugs then started fine once it was plugged in for a while. I just hope her father didnt drench it with ether in the process.
