mufflers break in?

quick question,do diesel mufflers have to ''break in'',i orderd a mangaflow,does that have to ''break in''or is it loud from the start...thanks

With any fiberglass packed muffler, it will start out quiet and as the packing blows out get somewhat louder... Not much but some... If its just a chambered muffler then no, what you get is what you get...

I added a dual exhaust to the wife Expedition... The one thing she said is QUIET or is going back to stock... I had them install two glass packs, one on each tailpipe... It was quiet for the first six months but has been getting more raspy lately... I get what I want and she doesn't notice... not yet anyway...

i had the magnaflow and i noticed it to not be very loud.. ive never heard of a breakin period for a muffler so i just pulled the muffler out and went strait pipe :evil: and i LOVE IT!

Nope! No breakin on a Manganflow muffer.

Does the Magnaflow even have fiberglass. I don't think MBRP does:shrug:

They soot idea might have some merit.

I wish for something betwixt between my mbrp and straight!
