Allison + 7.3

ok, so the idea for the 5 speed torqueshift was shot down, so how about an allison transmission puttin power from a 7.3 to the ground? what electronics would be needed, adapter plate... etc...:smoke

Why would you want to do that. While the allison is a good tranny I think it would be cheaper and you could get a better tranny from BTS. plus less of a headache.

I was thinking about the same thing. I want the 5 or 6 foward gears. I want the allison or a gear vendors unit. I want more control of my rpm band than what I have now. I know there is a kit out there for a allison conversion, anyone have any info?

Allisons a name. Get a BTS and don't worry about it ever again. If you really want that added gear, get a 2nd overdrive or something.

I am sure it could be done...but it would take a lot of work...and a ton of money to figure out how to get the engine computer to talk to the tranny computer.

Does destsroked have a kit for that? I vaguely remember reading something about an allison behind a powerstroke... Can't remember though.

Yeah, I've heard the Alli is a PITA to get to communicate right with anything other than the motor it came behind. Getting it to bolt up would be the easy part...............

So I'll say again, BTS + 2nd OD:Thumbup:
