Thumbs up DETAILS ON HOW TO WIRE A TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKUP SWITCH E40D TRANNY

Here's how to wire a lockup switch for the e40d. First,go to the wiring to the tranny,on drivers side, under the truck.on frame rail, find wiring going to tranny controls, open up wiring loom, you need the PURPLE AND YELLOW wire, connect a wire to this wire ,and run it inside the truck.Next connect it to a 2pole switch, also connect another wire to the same terminal,we will use this wire later.Ok now connect another wire to the other terminal on the switch and ground it to the frame, any good ground works. Now the wire we connected to the switch earlier, will be connected to the ground of a light, any type you choose, now run a hot wire from the ignition to the positive on your light, now your done. When the converter is locked up,either on its own or by your turning on the switch the light will be on.Just remember, dont lock up the converter manually until you reach 20mph or more, kinda depends on the load the trucks carrying. It's a nice mod,and will help, you keep from getting your tranny to hot, also you should have a temp gauge hooked up on your tranny.OHH and don't forget to turn off the switch when you stop or you'll kill the engine.Good luck and hope this helps someone.
