OLDER DETROIT S60 DDEC 3 ECM PROGRAM SWAP

I need you guys to think back in the days..... Can a 12.7 program be used on an 11.1 to increase HP.. A programmer mentioned it to me, so can anyone confirm if this can actually be done?

HP is a function of fuel rate (programming) and airflow, adding fuel w/o more air will only increase smoke and EGTs.

I'm sure you *can* force a 12.7L program into an 11.1 ECM and get some power increase, but you would be better served bringing the 11.1L to it's maximum rating the right way.

i think you can if its a dd2 12.7 because its the oldest one, but i think it wont give you, it you need to change the bullgear and the camshaft(12.7) ,for the pulses from the synchronizer and timing match, but you can try with another computer swap what it will do is run(idle) but not accelerate

you are better off upgrading your turbo and how much more power are you trying to get. you can all ways try cal code 75 to get another 50hp.

You aren't going to get 20% more power (370 + 75) by fooling the ECM with injector calibrations like "75".

The DDC injector calibration are to adjust individual injector flow + response times so all the injectors: 1) inject fuel at relatively the same timing and 2) Inject the same amount of fuel for the same injector PW; at least to the degree possible.

There was a larger range between injectors early than later so by 1999, they were DAMNED close right out of the box.

john i think that its possible that the 11.1 if starting the model SK-WK that are 11.1 dd3 cam timing to 4.95-6.53, if you wanna put the program of 12.7 the model has to be GK this is dd3(built 1994-97) same timing, i think that theres twin guys that are called( seriousseries60 )these guys gurantee 600hp in ground!!!! wow!!! thats alot for a 11.1 or to try who sell a marine cam, for a 12.7 dd4 is 23525525/526 for a 14L dd4 23529007/008 those cali to 81.0 high

A friend of mine drives a Sterling dump truck with a 11.1 detroit, I think is a '95, he swap the ecm with one from a 430 hp 12.7 and that little truck really came alive, he also swap the turbo, I don't know if it was from the KW he took the ecm, months later the ecm failed and he got onother one from another 12.7 lower hp, he says that is not as powerful as the other one but still has a lot more power than the 11.1, one other thing he did, he put a recistor (?) on the black wire the first on the harness to the intake manifold and it smokes like an old 3406 B, he thinks that also helped but maybe not much.

This is a young kid, he doesn't own the truck, but he think is his, polished the wheels even bought some aluminum rims for the truck, him and his dad work for the same company, but they refuse to drive ugly trucks, they even fix dents and small cracks on the body and paint the trucks them selves.

when I ask about expending money on accessories from their pockets they say if they leave they'll remove those things and take it to the next job.

my numbers come from a ddec4 being dynoed. On the older engines ddec3 and older it is about 75hp. So saying 50hp is a good guess.
