PDI's manifold will flow 15% better than a stock E model manifold on a flow bench. The manifold Pittsburgh Power sells is a PDI with the PDI logo's removed ported and ceramic coated by Full Tilt Performance. The port work isn't done properly and actually hurts flow over the stock PDI manifold because it has more turbulence inside it. The best flowing combination without going to a B model manifold is a PDI thats been extrude honed, but they are $1850 plus shipping. I wouldn't use a B model manifold until power levels go above 800Hp, otherwise you wil have alot of turbo lag. I personaly run sleeves in my motor and I'm pushing over 1100 hp to the tires with a C-18 700hp military truck manifold.

Raising the fuel pressure helps eliminate that. I shimmed the pump on my C15, and the lag is virtually all gone. Turbo lights as fast as our ISX does. Maybe better. Turbo used to be a turd til I did that. Running 102psi now.

I wouldn't run sleeves but its your own opinion I guess,they hold heat and they do come apart and go through turbo's!!

I guess some of us have had good luck with the sleeves. The older 2 piece gasket and sleeve design, caused me a few problems. But I have used the new one piece design in all of my trucks for several years without a single problem. As I type this though, I am knocking on top of the old gourd!!!

I have been through the "turbo eating a sleeve" ordeal. I figured it was just better to take them all out and not worry about it anymore. Any you know what.....it's been about 2 years now ....and no sleeve problems at all.

2003 KW W900L Caterpillar C-16 ,6TS injectors(+100hp), C18 1000 HP cam, Pittsburgh Power box, CAT 600 brake saver file, Borg Warner 318883 S586 turbo off Perkins Ind. engine ,turbo boot, oversized Duralite charge air cooler,Mr. Haney's fuel temp wire and a custom 5500lb Lipe clutch.

Excuse me Mr. Haney. But your facts seemed to be a little messed up. The Port and Polished Manifold flows even better then the stock one.

As a car guy I have a small flowbench that myself and my friends use. Well I use when I'm home. So they use it mostly. But! I bought a Manifold through PDI flowed it, agree it flows 15% better then my stock C-15, and sent it to Full Tilt Performance to have it Port and Polished. When I got it back not only did it look great chromed out It flowed 10% better then the PDI stock(25% then the stock), and Heck I'm getting better fuel mileage then my friend who just has the Stock PDI.

So Next time you feel like sounding smart Mr. Haney, I suggest knowing whose manifold flows better.

You need to read my post a little more..........I said the Full Tilt Manifold port job creates turbulence inside the manifold. Yes I said it hurts flow.......but it actually does increase flow on a flow bech.........but turbulence hurt the flow increase.

Where did I get my facts..........Extrude Hone in Irwin PA has a $1,000,000,000.00 flow bench and has done the testing for these manifold supposed facts that I don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe you should give them a call to see if I'm wrong......talk to Richie

Let me clarify my post

A flow increase on the flow bench may not produce the best power increase if turbulence rises due to the port work. My point is if you are going to spend the extra money for work on the manifold..........spend it for the best power gain.......extrude honing the manifold produces the best results for power not porting.......you can't port the short side radius of the inside of the manifold from each cylinder port........this is where the turbulence is created......no tools will fit in this area of the manifold to do this.
