Ok I have had some free time and have been thinking. Could we instal flamethrowers on our trucks? The way a gas one works is gas is dumped into the engine and out the exaust where its lit. So if diesel smoke is fuel could I put something in there to light it with out run a gas througgh it like propane? I would love to see flames shoot out some stacks! I have seen it on a show truck ford but that was prob. propane. any sugestions?

those are some sweet flames. Can the diesel smoke be lit by anything, i.e. spark plug in stack or even a butane lighter? Those kits can be made with stuff I have laying around so I was just wondering what i can do.

What it amounts to is 2 elec. solenoids for the LP, a good sized supply tank, lines and 2 Lp grill ignitors.  LOL

It is easy to set up. Did it t my old 72 chevy c-10 with 4" stacks. Cost about 10 bucks for a regulator and spark plugs. I was just wondering if the smoke would catch on fire if propane was added and lit. Dont want to make the truck into a bomb but just shoot out a nice flame to cook some rice!

No, if you keep everything close to the end of the stacks as a matter of fact the outlet is approximatley 3" from the exits of stacks, the problem is packaging it to look decent. The ignitor is the last piece at the end of stacks. Big enough supply tank will shoot you out bout a 3-6 ft. flame.

Cool...that RD I will get some pics when I decide to do it. Think of it, me pulling a sled down the clay with 6' flames shooting out!

:umno:
Now if your throttling down the track the flame would be blown out, due to the higher flow in the pipe from engine exhaust.:nunu:
