Hi,
Does anyone knwo what viscosity and qualty (synthetic?) oil would come from the factory in a 2011 F350 6.7l? I am thinking of changing it early if it's 10W30 and non synthetic. Before it get really cold!

Thanks

Factory should be a 5W-40.

I'm not sure what it would have, but I'd say group III at best.

My oil analysis after the first oil change said the factory oil was Motorcraft 10W-30.

Here is what Ford recommends and temp scale in Fahrenheit

Normal usage (0*to 100*+) 10w-30
Biodiesel ( -20* to 100*+ ) 5w-40, or ( 20* to 100*+) 15w-40
Severe Duty usage 5w-40

The following operating conditions are considered severe duty service.

frequent or extended idling (over 10 minutes per hour of normal driving).
low speed operation/stationary use.
if vehicle is operated in sustained ambient temperatures below -23C (-10F) or above 38C (100F).
frequent low speed operation, consistent heavy traffic less than 40 km/h (25 mph).
operating in severe dust conditions.
operating the vehicle off road.
towing a trailer over 1600 km (1000 miles).
sustained high speed driving at Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)

Another acceptable weight is 0W-30/0w-40 for all temps hot or cold
