i have my '11 2500. i want a front receiver for winch mount. looked at curt and drawtite. drawtite requires hole cut in fascia. curt goes below the fascia and would decrease front approach angle. does anybody have any experience with either. just need sone thoughts and opinions.

Call and talk with Warn. I do beleive they have some options with their multimount plate.

i initially looked at some warn items but it seems very pricey. you have to buy several different "modules" and fit together what you want. this is going to be something i may use 1 or 2 times a year and maybe never. keeping it as economical as possible. also looked at ranch hand bumpers, but again more than i need and more than i want to spend.

I just bought, but have not installed, a Westin Max Mount for a Ramsey I have...it mounts through the holes in the bumper for the tow hooks (lose the tow hooks). It was about $200 shipped, and will take a 12k winch. Its a really beefy looking thing (in the box), and you can get tow rings and a bull bar for it (or you can buy their HDX brush guard that includes the same winch platform).
I looked at the receiver mounts because that's what I have this Ramsey sitting on now, but none of them had the pull strength I was looking for (9k was the best I found, no comfort factor) and like you found, they place winch really low.
