: Speed Eliminator
sstockton 03-07-2006, 01:58 AM Hey, I was talking to a buddy with an 05 today, and he said that there isn't a speed Eliminator for the CR motor yet, and they can't break 108mph, and therefore the fastest 3rd gen was turning a 12.5x. IS this true? I thought for sure I'd heard of one faster than that.

Timbeaux38 03-07-2006, 03:00 PM I thought that this was true as well..
StrokerAce 03-07-2006, 07:39 PM Didnt the bullydog truck run a 11.2 on pinks?? I thought it was a CR but im really not sure...
Timbeaux38 03-07-2006, 09:16 PM They dont have the tree or timing on on PINKS
Timbeaux38 03-07-2006, 09:19 PM 11.2 seconds crossing the finish line at 124 MPH;
Maybe they had a radar gun LOLNot saying it didnt happen, but being generous on weight (600) that would put that truck at more HP than I have seen or heard from on any other 3rd gen
StrokerAce 03-08-2006, 12:10 AM I know a guy with twins and F1 injectors on an 05 with tuning intake and exhuast thats running 647 HP, bullydog is using what they say is a 345(i think) shot of NOS so i think its more then possible. I was kinda curious about how they got the times and mph on the article as well...
lmills3142 03-08-2006, 01:44 AM Actually, when I spoke to Bullydog's sales rep back in the summer, he told me they had the truck turning low 11's back then. He also informed me that on one pass the truck blew a headgasket and caught fire mid track and still run a sub 12 pass. Never did ask what they had done. He also assured me it would be unveiled publicly, but I never heard any more till the announcement of the pinks show hit the net
imported_Smokem 03-08-2006, 01:44 AM Earl Talley won the DHRA 2005 World Finals at Houstan Raceway Park in the TS Performance 2003 QC SB 4x4. This truck runs a single turbo, propane injection, TS Ramifier, and a Sun Coast worked 48RE. TS Performance's truck runs mid 13's, but I don't believe anyone has broke out of the 12's with a HPCR without a large dose of drugs.
sstockton 03-08-2006, 03:40 AM Yeah, my buddies truck is running mid 13,s and he said he hasn't heard of a truck breaking 12.5 so I was just curious.
...I wonder if Smarty will change that? :shrug:

Okay... The trucks you are talking about are two different trucks. The one they ran on pinks was built specifically for that show and was not done until about a couple of weeks before the show. The other truck is "Diesel Inferno". That truck was unveiled a while back. They have popped the head off a couple of times on that truck causing a fire the first time thus the name. The Pinks truck is a reg cab short bed 4x4. The other one is a QC short box 4x4.

Yes he did, he also lost in the local Bracket Class that day, to me. First bracket race I had ever been in. I run in low 13s consistently. 13.27@101.5 is my current best. That is with built tranny, couple of bolt ons and boxes, see signature. There are a lot of 3rd gens in the 13s, some in the 12s.
RCCox's 3rd gen ran a 12.4s 1/4 that day. He just posted a new dyno number of 748rwhp. So he may be the first 3rd gen daily driver in the 11s soon.
BD Rad will eliminate speed limiter on all 3rd gens and disable torque management on 305/555s. Hopefully Smarty can do the same soon on the 325/600s.
Dang, what about the 325/610's ?
WBV06CTD 03-18-2006, 04:09 AM What about the NADP Dodge CR.......
It is featured in the Diesel Power Magazine!!! Stated that it runs I think 12.5 or something??? I know it was in the 12's
