96 v-10 auto 4x4 club cab 3500 dually

Gas guage does not work. Can FILL the truck, and it still reads empty with the little dummy gas pump light on. Drive a few miles down the road, and it might read a 1/4 tank for a few minutes. thing is junk! Supposedly I have to replace the 'whole' unit at like $390...............anyone have any other ideas????????

Kevin,check for aftermarket sender assy's,like at Napa. Also, Dodge offers reman units for diesels,for under 50 bucks,i dont know if you could get one for a gasser without the electric pump ,did you ask if a reman was available,and how much?

Not yet......I was in shock from the price for the 'complete unit.' Think I'll call around to Napa, CarQuest and a few other places today and see what is out there..................
