twin_turbocummins05 04-20-2006, 06:38 PM Well Iam New Too The Site So I Would Like To Say Hello. My Name Is Larry I Have An 05 Cummins With The Following Done Bd Twin Turbos, Crazy Larry, Ts Ramifier, 100hp Etr Diesel Perf. Injectors, Ats Diesel Perfor. Trans, Banks Intercooler With High Ram Intake, Meth Water Injection, Afe Intake With Torque Tube, Ats Three Piece Manifold, propane And The Fass 150. And A Bosh Stage One Cp3 Pump Well Any Way I Bought The Injectors 2 Weeks Ago Put Them In And The Truck Ran Fine For A Week. And Then I Was Told I Was Crazy Because I Didnt Have The Fass System Yet And I Was Prob. Going To Burn Up The Cp3 Pump. So I Bought The Fass System Put It On Started The Truck And Every Thing Seemed Fine. I Drove It For About Three Miles And All A Sudden The Truck Started To Run Away. (with Out Touching The Throttle) We Pulled Over And Poped The Hood And It Sounded Like The Cp3 Pump Was Ticking. But We Also Noticed There Was A Leak From The Fuel Line So We Took It Back Home Took The Line Off To Check The O Ring And It Was Cracked. I Replaced It Put The Line On And The Truck Would Not Restart. I Started Calling Around And The Diesel Places Said You Killed The Cp3 Pump So I Bought A Modified One From Bosh 2199.00 I Put That On Yesterday And It Still Wont Start. I Was Hope Someone Out There Has An Idea Of What I May Have Done

Did you check (with the line off to see flow) that the FASS is putting out fuel...you have classic symptoms of a dead LP and now fuel.
It's pretty hard to kill a CP3 by just running it out of fuel...the VP44 is a different story, but not the CP3.

twin_turbocummins05 04-20-2006, 07:30 PM yes it ran fine before we pulled the line off and replaced the o ring. we did check the pump and its putting out fuel. i have heard maybe the flow tubes for the injectors may have moved and now its spraying around the injector and flooding it ????
jamesL 04-20-2006, 10:57 PM i have read in other forums that when you replace the cp3 its real hard getting everything primed again. i have never done this and im not sure though. just crack each injector line and relieve the pressure. just make sure not to do it while the truck is running, 28000 psi will take skin right off!! hope this helps
twin_turbocummins05 04-21-2006, 12:16 PM thanks i will give it a try i am going to check the flow yubes as well
twin_turbocummins05 04-21-2006, 12:44 PM has any one out there replaced the injectors and pump and had this problem
SlowDiesel 04-21-2006, 01:23 PM Sounds like you might have blown a seal in the pump or blown the injectors.
twin_turbocummins05 04-21-2006, 04:36 PM i guess its time to check the flow tubes and have the injectors pop tested
Taylor2006 04-21-2006, 05:18 PM sounds like you should buy a POWERSTROKE my buddy has a 2001 f350 that he used for pulling campers that are around 10,000 lbs he pulled them dailly for 750,000 miles and the only thing he done was put 1 transmission a set of injectors and a turbo in it it now has 800,000 miles and still runs good of course it isnt as strong as it used to be, but show me a cummins that will go that many miles on 1 trans.

What does this have to do with helping a guy out with his Dodge? Maybe you should try that old saying, "If you ain't got nothin good to say don't say it." Telling him to buy a powerstroke isn't helping him fix his problem.
Thanks,
Jason
twin_turbocummins05 04-21-2006, 08:20 PM i have a 96 powerstorke. but i need help with the dodge its a good motor too. but for the trans response thats why the first thing i bought was an aftermarket trans
twin_turbocummins05 04-21-2006, 08:27 PM well i talked with dynomite diesel today he said sounds like i over torqued the flow tubes and smashed the injector body and now its stuck open i guess its time to take the injectors out and see
