I've been looking at a few 5" exhaust system (flo pro, MBRP, and few others) and no one has a true 5" down pipe. they are all 4 or 4 1/2. Why dosent any one make a true 5" downpipe with the factory size flange welded to it?
Everyone with an 5" system what brand do you have and how well do you like it? I plan on running no muffler.

i have a 96 power stroke with the MBPR and i like it alot. on my o5 cummins i have the grand rock stack kit. its a nice kit. i am switching too the curved stacks thought i dont like the straight cut too much
If your looking for an exhaust kit that has a 5" down pipe for your 2003 then the only one I could find was this one: http://www.rpmoutlet.com/dodgec5.htm
It's 4" bolt up to the exhaust elbow but then flares out to 5":sly:
But this set up is only offered in stainless steel:shrug: and not the aluminum system.

they don't sell true 5" DP's because it is too tight a fit for the simple bent DP, there would have to be more bends to it to sneak around everything and there is too much variation between trucks.

i have an 03 with a manual tranny and part #3564821c1 at any international dealership will or can get it its a 5in down pipe that has 4in flange welded to it i looked at an automatic tranny and it might work but hard to say but it does work with manual and its a lot cheaper it doesnt go back as far so you will have to get some 5 in flex pipe

MBRP just came out with a 5" total system...Down pipe included. Get on Diesel Truck World and look on the main page and you will see a man holding a 5" muffler and click on it. It will bring you to another page and read it.

I have the MBRP 5" aluminized full straight pipe system and I LUV it.... and you only have SUCH a big turbo outlet and flange and all of the pipes have to be reduced to fit up to the turbo ... but right after the front mount, mine is 5" all the way back .... only about 10" worth of 4" pipe.... if you had a bigger turbo and flange then i would think you would have to get a Cutsom DP ....
Also ... it took me 45 mins BY MYSELF to take out the stock system and put the new MBRP back in... it was SOOOO Easy it wasnt even funny.... Hell it took me longer to get my Silencer ring out than get my Exhaust on.... LOL

Here is a pic of the RPMoutlet one on mine. It is a Flo Pro 5". It's 5" right out of the elbow as you can see.
