Well about 3 weekds ago i installed the clutch drove it until it was broken in and had no problems. Well my dad had to go to a show and took the truck and trailor and he gest back and i now have 2 problems. First of all the speedo is going crazy it jumps back and forth real fast and wont work right. The second is i now have real loud clutch noise. Im not sure if it is coming from the tranny or the clutch but i think it may be the tranny. When going into 2,3rd at low rpms it sounds like a bolt is getting knosked arond and in all the gear especially fifth you can hear every totation something makes. I say something because im not sure what it is. I think it is the tranny because every once in awhile i can feel the shifter get a slight jolt. there is no grinding so i think my syncronizers are okay. I also noticed that when the truck is off and you shift form gear to gear i feel a little hesitation going the whole way into gear. any ideas?
thanks rick

This is like a plague, first my brother, then my friend, but hopefully not you. Pull the clutch and check the dampening springs, then pull the top cover on the tranny and check 3rd gear and the countershaft for missing teeth. Atleast Haisley's sell these transmissions for a good price, good luck.

I have a buddy who said he had a sim9ilar problem with his jeep. Said something abouty the clusters may be going? Not sure but it is going to the tranny shop soon. Can i see anything by removing the pto input cover on the drivers side? You make it sound like i need a whole new tranny if it the problem you speak of. Tell me it isnt so. I may do a 6 spd if its tah bad but i dont know if my clutch for the nv4500 will work.

You may be able to see something through the PTO cover, but you are still going to need to pull the tranny. You could try putting the truck in gear with the rear wheels in the air, and have someone turn the tires over while you look for damage.
