Not that it'll be any compatition.
But me and a freind are travelling from Ohio to Montana.
I have my truck as shown below. He has a Avalanche 4x4 8.1 Vortec.
I could see my MPG be almost double his.
Never the less, it'll be fun to see. I'll give ya the reports when I get back.

Yikes, that sucks 8.1mpg, and I thought I was hurtin. I've started driving slower to offset the higher price of fuel, and I think I've gained about 2.5mpg I should be up to around 19 or 20, from as low as 16.4. Goes to show what your right foot can do for you.

The strange part is, I know a guy that got a 2500 krew kab with the 8.1, put a lift & 35's on it and gets 13mpg's.

I believe it, I've encounterd a Gasoline engine made on a Tuesday too. I drove a F450 V-10 Camper. It was hauling 2 familys and there stuff and got 8MPG @ 70 MPH which I thought was very decent.

Chevy 2500 4.10 rear with a 8.1 towing about a 10,000-12,000 pound camper I saw get 5 mpg. The guy towed it from MA to VA and got back and bought a Diesel.
