Just wondering if anyone had any experience going from a SPS66 to a Silver Bullet, or if anyone had tried the 71 that II offers? I jumped on the bandwagon of a single and nitrous for drag racing. Garmon is rebuilding the motor now with lower compression, and I need to know which turbo to run. I was thinking bigger sounds better, though with nitrous does it really matter? I'm concerned with the way a larger turbo will spool as well. I don't want to turn it much over 4,000. This is not a daily driver. It's a half ton that will never pull anything, and driveability is not really a concern.

I didn't know they offered a 71mm turbo, the silver bullet and the SPS66 are some of the laggiest turbos out there, but like you said drivability isn't a issue, but the silver bullet is great for drag racing and holding 800+ hp.

What do you recommend for 500-600 that isn't laggy?

I'm supposed to have a silver bullet on the way to Garmons shop. It's odd.. I've heard some say the 66 spools quickly for a turbo of it's size, and others say the silver bullet spools even quicker. I had my 66 on top of a big brother, and that wasn't even too laggy on the street. I guess a lot depends on the fuel you have.. I'm actually turbo dumb. Most of what I know is what I've read, with little real world experience.

The single turbo choice depends on your truck. 12v, 24v or CR They all act differently with the turbos. I don't think very many people tow with 500-600hp on a single.
I believe the 71 is a K31 variant with a small exhaust housing. I know someone who was running one for sled pulling but didn't like it. He went back to a HTT ? not sure what he is running now other than it is from high tech.
