I just changed a pump on a 12 valve p pump ran fine for 2 days now has a tick on idle nothing other than idle. the pump is new( rebuilt by scheid) so not sure whats going on? maybe a lift pump? thanks in advance

The lift pump can tick, but so can the overflow valve on the fuel injection pump.

Be sure it is in the IP. I would almost wager it is the lift pump. I replaced mine last March, it was ticking so loud you could not hear the motor while at idle.
