I thought the Cowboy Cadillac was back to life tonight, but it seems I was wrong :umno: . Fired right up, but lopes like it has a monster cam in it and tries to idle at 650 rpm..... White smokes a cloud so big you would think it was a fog machine and will turn night into day with a tap of the pedal to 1200rpm without the comp box on... I'll know tomorrow if she is gonna be ok or not, ordered the parts for what we think is wrong.
Does anyone know why Haisley hasn't answered their phone in a week??
I need to ask them about a certain performance part.........

Hope it is not anything Haisley has done CB, best of luck.

Not certain, but I'm leaning in that direction. Not going to point a finger until I know for sure. Don't want to slander our performance providers, I have other things from them too.

If it makes you feel any better me and a buddy spent two hours trying to get mine to crank...then we replugged a loose data bus connector and it fired right up :poke: But mine don't lope, nor smoke at idle. If there is anything I can do to help CB just let me know.

Well my brother drove it tonight, and it white smokes all the time until you get in it. Then it turns day into night until 2300 rpm where it cleans up and takes off. Doesn't idle smoothly under 1000 rpm. My brother says it had the main street blacked out for five minutes before it cleared at half throttle. He said he has never seen that much smoke in his life. This is with injectors, stock vp44, ecm, ht64 and no comp box. This sucks. :( :( I'm getting ready to lose 12v's.

Well, :( :? not exactly strong, but it is on its way here. I meet them at Jeff's shop tomorrow (friday). I/we hope to figure some things out.

I can say that we put my stage 4's on Brian Mallory's truck along with a stock S300. It hauls butt, and only saw 1200 egts from the little that we drove it. Ran 35psi boost for now, and it barks tires shifting into second. Really nice, and very impressed for a STOCK turbo.

Well as soon as my brother got there we found out what was wrong. He doesn't know 24v's as well as 12v's. We were all excited, got it running and ran like a champ. :woot: :woot: Then we went back the next day and everything went down hill. So for now she is in a non boosting limp mode until I get it repaired, but atleast it is home. :( :( I guess it never ends.
I will tell you one thing though on a good note. I would never have a set of EDM injectors, but would buy the set I have now over and over again. When she lights, you are sent back in time, and they do very well on a daily driver.

That is fugly right there boys and girls....just plain fugly....

Are you trying to remove it without pulling the head? Or are you gonna have to yank the motor?

Well here is the good news. Now I'm just waiting for the right stud to get here. The old one backed out with some pressure and maybe the drive back from GA loosened it a little. Either way I was lucky.

What brand studs are these? How much TQ was applied? Did you retorque them, and if so how many times? Just trying to gauge reliablility.

Thanks,

Doug

They dont look anything like my ARP's or A1's. Glad you got it out.

They came with ARP thread lubricant, that is all I know. They also have a allen head in the top to install them, instead of having to double nut them. I got them from HM along with the head gasket and fire rings. First time was on install when you step them up in tq, then again after engine has reached operating temp. We were tourqing them again after a week of driving.
The recommended torque is 125 ft/lbs. I was told by Van, that I was the fourth person this month to break a head stud......

Well this just plain sucks. :pissed: :pissed: I had the truck running for the Ocala thing. On the way back, I pulled on a 05 vette from 75 to 120 on level 3/3 :woot: . I was happy, and glad to have my truck back. Then I drive it to work on Monday, and when we grabbed second the truck jerked, and SNAP :pissed: bye, bye Mr. Input Shaft So now I get to send in my clutch disc for the upgrade and buy a 1 3/8" input shaft. :pissed:
I will have to say these injectors make power, so much that the drivetrain is starting to give up now.
