Anyone done this or have any information on it? I know 2nd gen guys have done this and it is a pretty easy swap because everything is there. Considering doing this pending I can find the donor trans for a reasonable price, build it up, and then swap it into the truck. Thanks in advance for any information.

There is not any kits that I am aware of for the 3rd Gens to do this. It can be done, but parts are going to be more expensive due to being newer.
I personally would not do it to that new of a truck. I think with the new motor coming out for 07' you could trade your truck in for a left over 06', get what you want on it, and come out ahead.

I would do that but most of my stuff won't fit an '06 IIRC. I dunno, maybe I will look for something next fall when the new ones come out.

Everything off your truck will fit an 06.
As for the conversion, why do it? Is the 4 speed not cutting it or are you trying to avoid going for a fully built 48RE?
Its completely doable, but you do need to seriously thing about what transmission to install. The NV5600 is awesome, but soon will be hard to find parts for. The new G56 would be nice, but with 4.10 gears you'll be ordering an OD unit.

I want an overdrive with my 3.73's and 35's. LOL
