I was told by a friend of a friend (whos NOT a dielsel mechanic) that a dirty fuel filter can make a diesel engine rattle and run generally like crap..... so on that note, I think i'm gonna change mine. I've put about 6k on it since i bought it.....
Being I know knothing about this truck, can someone give me some quick instruction on changing it? Where is it? Spin the old one off, put the new one on, prime it with the little pump thingy and i'm good to go?? Or am I way off? Thanks again Guys.. I really appreciate the help!!

close..
the cannister is on the drives side of the engine next to the firewall mounted on the engine. has a big yellow top..wipe it off good, there's a drain valve on it, drain it, unscrew it and lift the top off. the filter is stuck onto the lid. the base of the filter element snaps into tabs on the lid..pull off the filter, slide on to new one, replace the o-ring and put it back on. I usually just cycle the key a few times, leting the lift pump cycle through a few times, then start it up and check for leaks..
I got one of these for my 03, it's been well worth the money
