I have fabbed a number of conversions of different types over the last 30 some-odd years, and enjoy the company. You oughta have something with some cool old diesel!!! exsimguy1 12-29-2006, 03:18 PM Afew of the numerous Chev SB - Ford 4x4 (different sizes, 66,72,75,77,79,84 F100,F150,F250) Chev BB - Ford 4x4 66 Chev SB - Chev Vega (did toooo many) 555 cummins - 66-74 Ford F700 F800 (gas re-powers LOOONG ago) 6V-53 DD - 66-74 Ford F700-F800 (gas re-powers LooooNG ago) 4BD1 Isuzu - 78 Dodge maxi-van 4BD1 Isuzu - 75 F-250 4x4 Lots of time spent fabbing mounts, adaptors, etc for others with similar interests/projects. I like both the Cummins 4bt, and Isuzu 4BD series, always looking for good cores. Had 6 cylinder Cummins of different flavors, and like them, but right now, I favor the mileage of the 4's over the extra power. Had some IDI fords (6.9, 7.3) and found them to be reliable up to about 250 HP (conservatively). I did not personally own any Powerstrokes, although I have worked on them. More later. | |
