My friend has an 03 dodge cummins 6 speed 4 door. It has an afe intake and is piped. Ok then i put a 80 horse superchip and stacked two other chips on that. A edge one stage that adds like 60 or 70 and a bullydog- torque dog which has three small settings 30 45 65. My question is the truck hardly smokes. Dont get me wrong it has a crap load of power but we also like smoke. What could we do to get it to smoke more. Thanks

Why smoke? :shrug: All it is, is unburned fuel which = no horse power.:shrug:
The idea is to get as much HP with minimal smoke.
If you want smoke change out the injectors. Go with at least 100 hp injectors.

Black smoke- unburnt fuel
White smoke- either somebody's doing a burnout, or blew a turbo
Blue smoke- usually means burning oil

Get rid of all those "chips" and get a bullydog triple dog or TST youll get alot of smoke. Stacking 3 "chips" is just plain retarded.

when you watch sled pullers spool up they blow white, i thought it was an incredible amount of water from water injection. Yeah seriously only use one chip or box not 3.

I agree... take all the chips and or boxes off and use one .... especially if you are only on a STock Engine ... you get a turbo, injectors, and fuel delivery stuff then go with the big Stacks ...
I have a Bully Dog for sale with the Pillar mount... not sure if it will work with the 03 though...

On the smoke color subject I was told that:
Black= Unburnt fuel from lack of oxygen
White = large quantity of fuel and cold pistons and chamber or low compression (seen it on a truck that the intake valve was too tight)
Blue= Oil consumption

I occasionally blow white smoke when its cold outside, so yeah maybe thats it

White smoke is UNBURNT fuel. I I'll probably get flamed for saying that, but black smoke is fuel burning in the exhaust. When it is cold out, you will see white smoke, because your exhaust manifold and turbo haven't reached temps yet that will start to burn the unburned fuel. When excess fuel is pushed through the combustion chamber and out into a hot exhaust manifold and turbo, it gets a second chance to burn, but because of a lack of oxygen it only partially burns. Diesel being a Paraffin based fuel releases black or grey smoke.
As far as stacking three boxes, I think thats asking for trouble. 60-70hp boxes like you've stacked three often times aren't fueling boxes. No extra fuel, no smoke. Plus they are all doing the same thing, so You could concievably be advancing timing too much if they are timing boxes, or if they increase rail pressure, you could be increasing rail pressure too much and that can result in damage to the nozzle tips, subsequently resulting in engine damage. Like others have said. Ditch them and go for 1 that does fueling, you'll probably see an increase in power too.
