Ok i have a 98 24V auto.....i need a chip that will give me some more power when pulling our livestock trailer. I had a Van Aaken but it went south on me. I want some smoke but nothing like a black out. I also don't want to fry the tranny which i know it handled the VA just fine. I think the VA was around 70hp....i think. What would a Bullydog Torque Dog be like. I would really like domething that is adjustable like the Bully Dog. I was also looking into the power puck on thorobred diesel for 165 bucks. its comparable to the EZ. what do you guys recommend?

I ran an ez before i got the money for my bluechip and i still used the ez for timing. it depends what you want to spend. the tst boxes are also good boxes, and i know quite a few guys run the comps i was just partial to the bluechip.

I think the power puck would work a little better. Guy around here had a bully dog and you could tell no difference.

i hear that the Bully Dogs smoke quite a bit....the Torque dog is a stock 30, 65 adjustable which i like just because its adjustable on the fly. I was hoping to find someone on here who had one to tell me about their experience. Is thoroughbred a good place to buy stuff or is a little "hokey"

I've heard alot of good out of power pucks and the price don't sound to bad as far as a torque dog there a lot better chip for your money a edge comp or attitude is about the same price with more proven power and has adjustablity Va is a good box to wonder what happen to it? I'm not bashin bully dog or nothing they make good stuff theres just better for these model trucks for the same money.

Yeah the power puck would be great for you, cheap, just enough power to aid during towing, won't hurt your trans and will even give you some better mileage. The only thing is it only has one power level 65hp, but with the little amount of power you really don't need it to adjust alot.

I would go with the edge juice, then you get gauges plus a cool down timer.:Thumbup:

heres the deal....for 165 bucks i got the power puck...same hps as the Bully Dog. I have the stock tranny and i think anything more that 65hp will raise hell with it. When i do some fuel and tranny mods i will stack the PP with a smarty or something in that nature since i can stack a PP with something else. Thanks for all of the info tho!

I run my juice on lvl 5 all the time. I have a stock auto tranny and its never messed it up.. lvl 5 equates to around 130hp i think?

the older trannys are weeker than the new ones and i have 123,000 on mine and it hasn't been touched which is like unheard of for these trucks. Ya....i hope that the VA was bad and it wasn't my injector pump screwng me up....then i would have two chips....we'll find out monday. Cross yourfingers that it was only the VA

Yeah the newer transmissions have definatly inproved since the older transmissions. I really wouldn't think something like a VA box would really hurt any part of your truck, because it is a timing only box along with the Power puck, EZ and VA.

ok....finally got the PP....its great. No smoke but that wasn't what i was after. It was quick and easy to hook up and the power is great. I think it is alittle short on power at lower rpms but if your at 55 and get on it.....O BOY!! Great product for i paid.....well worth it....does everything i want it too!

Told you it was a good little box. Now later on you can stack that with a TST PM3 and really wake it up.
