Got a 95 160 pump and cant keep the throttle from sticking. I messed with it once before and got it smoothed out with penetrating fluid and another spring but now its sticking again. There is a catch in the pump itself and not in the linkage.

Common problem? Easy fix?

Thanx, Bean

if im not mistaken, it is just the cable itself. i remember reading a TSB on the throttle cable being hard to control, sticky, and not being able to rev the motor as high as usual..all of these problems are from the cable itself...

best wishes,
JR

How about the joints on the throttle linkage? The P pump trucks had the throttle linkage with the nylon joints in it.

Gosh I am having a hard time explaining this it seems, same thing on DTR. Its NOT the linkage at all. with no linkage hooked up the shaft that goes into the pump will hang up at part throttle, nothing to do with cables or rods or joints or whatever.

Wheres that diagram Tim?
