hi i have a 1979 ford f250 highboy with a 460 big block and a 4sp granny gear tranny i was wondering if i could keep the tranny and engine mounts and what all work will be involved in the gas to diesel conversion??? please help

If you contact IDIieselman he can tell you from first hand experience and prolly tell you everything you need to know to get yours up and going as he did install a 7.3 idi in his old ford. And it is by far the nicest old ford of that body style I have seen like that and is still used daily.

i think its the best body style also this is my 2nd 1 form the 70's but who is IDIieselman??

That 460 must have been transplanted already. I don't think they put 460's in 3/4 tons in 79. But i may be wrong as that was 8 years before i was born LOL. But i thought the 79 250's came with 400's which are junk. I have a 78 with a 400 engine that is waiting to be ditched for a DT466
