: Yep...call me a traitor
StrokerAce 11-15-2005, 06:09 PM I knew i was gona trade my F-250 in in the next week or so. Although i didnt want a 6.0...I really wanted a chevy untill i saw their ubsured pricing...im getting an 06 dodge. Found a nice Single cab auto dually thats loaded so hopefully that one or a SRW single cab, also loaded will be what i get. I'll be having alot of questions, dont know much about dodges. First what should i expect to give to get out the door with a loaded single cab dually auto. Also whats the best aftermarket tranny for high HP? And how much will it break the bank?
haz-mat19 11-15-2005, 06:21 PM Sweet, but why only a single cab.
alldiesels 11-15-2005, 06:30 PM He needs light weight because he thinks he is gana be able to beat me with that 6banger LOL
at least he isn't geting a duratrash
robert
out
NMU98 11-15-2005, 06:34 PM He might wish he bought a duramax when they go around both of you at the track!... Dont knock em, they are the bomb for running hard!
On edit: I am in no way saying the cummins cannot be a fast engine... CAuse with some work it can...
StrokerAce 11-15-2005, 06:38 PM I wanted the d-max but just can't shell out the mulah. I was kinda thinkin of getting a 6 speed so i could afford some twins, but i dont wanna get passed but a truck that has a chip, shifting takes to much time. But with some time it should be pretty quick.
StrokerAce 11-15-2005, 06:39 PM Oh and bye the way i like attention, everyone has a CC now a single cab is pretty rare, gets alot of looks

If it matters to ya, you might want to look at a CC for re-sale, I typically trade trucks every year and a half. In order to do that, I always bought the easy things to get rid of, like 4 door long beds..
Summit6.6 11-15-2005, 07:17 PM duramax is the best light duty diesel out right now.
StrokerAce 11-15-2005, 07:23 PM Ill be keeping it untill i graduate collage so another 4 years or so minimum. Then it can sit in the garage when im getting shot at in some crap hole country.
haz-mat19 11-15-2005, 07:47 PM :agreed: CC will help with resale, but whatever you like it is going to be yours, dmax the best :umno: but it is a good motor. Good luck with the new rig  . See ya
Billysgoat 11-15-2005, 11:55 PM The Dodges are laying down some serious #'s, just one problem, they have this thing called "Torque management" that screws with the racers. Basically, at low speeds the computer will not let the engine produce the tremendous torque these motors are known for, hence the hole shot off the line sucks
On the good side though, you can make enough reliable power to catch and pass those pesky little v motors LOL
If you are seriously looking for a go fast diesel ride I would look for a pre 03 Dmax, if you can take a CC 2wd and get it in the 12's that is hard to beat.
.....want speed? Want long-term power getting to the ground? ....Get an auto and call a builder like SunCoast, DTT or someone that will back their design...anywhere. Room is limited in a single and the shaker just makes it worse IMHO.
BTW, are you in artrisitic scrhool? :poke: You said that you're in collage, right?
alldiesels 11-16-2005, 05:39 PM Nope, right now community college, next year Colorado state. I plan on majoring in history. Why?

Pre 04.5' are all LB7's... Pre 03's do have a 200 mile warranty on the injectors because they used a softer nozzle... 03-04.5 have the hardened tips...
But if you wanted to replace the tubo, none of that would matter.... Except the LLY programing is still lacking, but its coming around...
Summit6.6 11-16-2005, 09:39 PM he means 200k warranty
Stroker...... I was :poke: at ya. You said you were going to "collage" not college, like you were part of an arrangement. I can't sprell either. LOL

is there any way to get rid of this? this could realy mess with you (me) when towing.I would think.
keeps parts from break'n as well. .......long term
Deezle1 11-17-2005, 01:59 PM That auto detune feature while taking off is ment to save the auto trannys. Im not quite sure if the manuals have it, but i know the autos do. it doesnt hinder it at speed, but when you just start off it will detune slightly, then when your moving the power will return.
Dom
Billysgoat 11-17-2005, 02:27 PM You won't notice it when towing, just when launching
Deezle1 11-17-2005, 04:37 PM yup, only when your trying to beat the schnot out of it off the line....
Dom
alldiesels 11-17-2005, 06:13 PM So is their a way to rid the autos of this, tuning maybe?
Billysgoat 11-17-2005, 06:16 PM Not if, but WHEN they get rid of it watch out, them piddly powerstrokes will be back to snortin' soot LOL LOL J/K
There are some folks working on this I am sure.
.....already are werk'n on it. New PCM to come.... Yes, a new whole system.
