Took out the silencer ring in my 06, in the intake duct their was some plastic fins, and after that tehir was a plastic chamber( right before the turbo) so i knocked all those fins out, anyone got any idea what their for???? Sounds a little louder now. :Thumbup:

That tube with the fins are a silencer. It works hand in hand with the silencer ring on the turbo. Its just a intake muffler.

The white plastic direction vanes right before the turbo are just that, directional vanes...I found mine half cocked in the tube blocking the airflow...some guy in CA now has it!

I removed the silencer ring, silencer tube, and the directional vanes...the silencer tube has no effect on anything (mileage, power, etc) so I put it back in...the silencer ring and vanes stayed out.
