Have any of you had to replace the hubs on your dodges yet. I had to replace one at 74,000 and one at about 84,000. I think that is a little to soon.

My first one just went at 40,000 miles. Fortunately, the Dynatrac upgrade is on the way.

I have never heard of anyone having to change their hubs and I know some people with 200K+ and neer a problem! I have 72K on my 03' and have had no problems.
Is this from abuse or just regular driving??

Actually I JUST changed my front brake pads and they still had well over 1/8in to the wear bar!

I had a buddy who replaced his at about 40,000 also. I wish the fuel milleage would actually be better without haven to put a chip on it like i did.

I'm getting 20mpg (highway) with a Rocktech sensor and FASS...they were the two best mods for mileage I could have done. I do have basically a straight pipe and aftermarket airfilter in a modified factory box too.

I got in on the group buy for the DynaTrac hubs too...mainly to get rid of the 70 mph vibes...the added benefit of losing the unit bearings was just a bonus.

I don't like the unit bearings because they are "non-serviceable" without a bunch of effort taking them apart. Driving through any amount of water/mud shortens the life of them quite quickly.

I just had a thought, was going to try this on anther set of hubs, but sold them.

The newer ABS hubs have a hole in them for the ABS sensor...you could theoretically pump grease though that hole (or make one that threads the hold down screw hole) and pump freash grease into the bearing once in a while.

lookout for churning......over packing will do that.

lookout for churning......over packing will do that.

Considering how little grease the factory actually puts in the unit bearings, I don't see that being a problem!

We packed my dad's bearing pretty good at about 85k...he is still on those originals at over 230k...but of course Murphy's Law applies too being there is a new Napa replacement in the garage!!

Is Chrysler covering the cost of the new hubs, under the 100K ?

Dodge only has 7/70k warranty on the drivetrain (which I believe is now only a 3/36k)...the 100k warranty is only for the CTD.

These hubs aren't cheap either. They cost around $300. :barf:
