: FASS fuel system
Brett V. 02-10-2006, 04:28 AM How hard is it to put a FASS system on an 06 dodge cummins.
I know you have to drop the fuel tank how long will it take
A little info would be nice.
syndicate 02-10-2006, 04:44 AM You may want to consider the RASP pump. It is belt driven and much quiter that the Fass
John DiMartino 02-10-2006, 08:35 AM I second the RASP pump, not so much because of the noise, but because it wil llast the life of the truck, its the last pump you'll have to buy.The Fass uses an electric fuel pump, and they will eventually need to be replaced,or rebuilt, much like a stock setup.
RacinDuallie 02-10-2006, 02:29 PM Anyone have pics of the RASP pump?
Timbeaux38 02-10-2006, 03:13 PM Check out powerbypoole.com
I think he has some pics
John DiMartino 02-10-2006, 03:15 PM ill try to get a pic of mine later, its tight under my truck now.i have in the way of the RASP,a 40000GVWR trans cooler,a blizzard plow mount, and a DSS steering stabilzer.Ill try later though.

A little info would be nice.Rasp makes a very nice system,I ended up going with Fass on my truck (2004) for the money I had at the time.If you put a larger pickup tube in the fuel tank with the Fass,it makes it pretty quiet,I cannot hear mine unless I am in the bed of the truck.I paid $50 extra for the larger pickup tube on my 150 gph setup.coobie
coobie 02-14-2006, 03:27 AM cost? :shrug:Rich,if your asking about the cost of the Fass system,I had around $650-$675 in mine plus the install.coobie
coobie 02-14-2006, 09:31 AM Can you post some pics?Sorry Rich I cannot, sure wish I could.Maybe one of these days I will buy a digital camera instead of toys for this truck LOL coobie
:roflmao: .........tell me about it!
coobie 02-15-2006, 02:55 AM :roflmao: .........tell me about it!Rich,I had the fass system (150 gph) with the larger pickup tube installed in the fuel tank to make it more quiet. With all the talk with lift pump failures I thought it was a good idea.I have a autometer fuel gauge installed also.IMHO if you are going to run any type of HP box the fass is the way to go.Before the fass install my psi was 10psi at idle and 1psi wot. With the fass system installed my psi now stays 16-18psi at idle and 12psi wot.The truck has better throttle response and the mpg,s have increased about 1mpg.coobie:Thumbup:

:agreed:
I saw the same...between the FASS and the RockTech sensor, I'm holding between 20 and 21 mpg on the highway...even with winterized fuel.
I didn't like the RASP because it was very complex and no kit was out there like the FASS.
Rich, if you want pictures of the FASS, I can get some of mine.

Wow, thanks fellas. Can you psot those pics? Which works better with the FASS system, the VP44 or the CP3..... or does it matter?

I don't think it matters...they do have issues with the older VP44s (cracking diaphragms).
