Most on here will probably agree that a 35" tall tire is about max with your stock set-up. A 35x12.50x16 or 315/70/16 (metric) should work on a stock wheel. You will probably rub a little when turning without a leveling kit. It usually rubs on the inner fender liners and sometimes on the bumper ends/edges.

The largest you can fit on a stock rim without wearing out the center of the tire is a 285/75/16.

Good point, the rim is only about 7 inches wide. So a 12.50 wide tire is really pushing it. I was thinking more along the lines of tire height.

in most cases a 35" wont fit a 99-04 with stock suspension. 33" would be max.

I just put a set of 285-75-16's on my 04 F-350 yesterday. I do have the mini spring pack leveling kit but wouldn't need it for these tires at all. The tires made a huge difference in the way the truck looks IMO...I really like it. I went with the 285's due to lack of funds for wheels and I wanted to keep performance and mileage pretty much the same as my 265's. The 285's fill in the wheel wells way better then 265's.

i had 33x12.50s on mine with no rub with no lift, before i did my leveling kit and jumped to 35s
