First post for me. I drive a Volvo 610 and know nothing about Macks but here goes. A friend who is not a "computer type" has a 2004 Mack dump truck and wants to turn it up. The dealer says that there is no way because of the EPA. Our question is, is there anyone out there who can reprogram the computer on this truck to get more torque/hp, etc?????

You can convert to 460 But Depending on the truck I may not have the cooling! Its a major to convert to Cam key has to change Possible turbo And to my Knowledge there is no programing or aftermarketchiping for the eteck!
You don't want to go there anyway!stay with 427 the pull range is much better. If you look at spec's the 427 has a flat top end once there it should hold on .

The 427 programming is better. The 454/460 settings are more doggy, from what I've heard. Both from the dealers themselves, or drivers.

I do have a friend of mine that is running a Vision truck with a 400hp engine in it. He wanted more hp, but said they couldn't. What he said the did do, was to up the tq. Said it is up close to 2000 ft/lbs. Says it pulls hard now. :D
