White Smoke?

My truck has been starting to blow white smoke sometimes and had been getting steadily worse. Sometimes when it smokes it runs a little rough and sometimes when it does it runs smooth. It sometimes does it when you are at an idle, and sometimes it does it when you are accelerating through 10mph to about 50mph it clears up. Its a white smoke and smells like coolant. Ive added about 4 gallons of coolent on the last 2-3 weeks. The stock exhaust and intake have just put back on, the issues ive had were on 250 tune and 0hp filter off tune. Any ideas would be appreciated, ive been told its a possible egr valve issue but that was in the begining and didnt have much info to give him at that time,,,,, it just threw a egr code one time in the begining but after i cleared it never came back after that...

Either a head gasket or EGR cooler failure. Good luck man

Well it may be a few days before i can take it to the dealer, i put the stock exhaust back on thursday and the 1st time it went into filter cleaning mode the gasget blew out on dpf and the extremely hot exhaust melted a sensor and some wires so the truck wont run after shes warmed up, ford wanted 135$ for the sensor but i found a new one on eBay for 20$ so at this point im waiting on that.

Just a follow up, truck cleared up & ran awesome after i put stock exhaust on for quite some time, until now, one day on my way to work it started bellowing TONS of white smoke and the motor started rattling/knocking. Its up at the ford dealership and they said that they pressure tested the coolant system because there was 3qts of antifreeze in the oil and they had coolant coming out of the oil pan overnight, cyl# 8 low compression and the rattle they think is a rod bearing. They are waiting to here from ford what they want to do.

Ford has and after warranty assistance plan available just for these things. Now what is their explanation that a bad cooler causes a block to fail?

They said that the egr cooler popped and sent coolent into the engine and it bent a rod and i believe they said it cracked a piston aswell. The trucks been there 3 weeks now. They were waiting to here from ford now to see if they are going to help me with the bill...

I am curious to see how this turns out, ForceFed had a similar issue and Ford took care of him. Sounds like you need to get these trucks bullet proof, head studs, etc before you risk tearing up the motor. Great motor but things will fail with added juice.....

I will have my truck back tomarrow. Ford is going in 6,000$ and ESP is going in 1,500$ (because my old motor had the bed plate seal leaking). So i have roughly 3500$ into a new motor, they installed head studs and bullit proof egr coolers for me so she should be ready to go awile now.
