She's coming in tommorow. We were thinking maybe doing a step by step photo install without removing the cab. It's going to take a little work but am willing to do it if there is some interest. I know there's alot of people who would probably tackle it themselves if they had some guidance. So here's the offer. If there's no feed back I won't worry about it.

I'd Ilike to see some pics. looks like a pain but if thats the only way you can do it I'm sure alot would like to know how.

Yeah if you have the time to do it, I would appreciate it.

I can't wait until every one messes it up and Blames you because of not having a chance in heck of ever doing to right in the frist place and they start to talk bad about your shop and runes your business,That is what will happen! I have tried to show people before and they still do not know what they are looking at ,warped heads, cracks, dirt, greasy fingers on a head gasket that should have never been touched, and so on. 6.0 trucks are very finkey and so are there owners! Be carfull ,trying to help some people can turn around and bite you! my 2 cents

cause every one has access or owns a lift right.. :damnit

Even though I am not taking on this job myself (River City Diesel is doing mine next week :thumbsup) I would be interested to see it done. It would certainly be beneficial to the DIY'ers out there!

Whether you do it in or out of the truck, I would still like to see a write-up on it. What year is the truck? Oh and I don't see how anybody could ever hold you responsible for them screwing up there own truck. Look at how many people give advice to others and some even own companies and I have never seen anyone blame someone else.

um... ya, it would probably get done right the first time then.

another words i would have no problem doing them myself. a nice write up can give people good ideas before they start or what to expect. Im no mechanic so to say. So your saying its dumb for me to do it myself.

I'd like to see a write up on this, I love seeing pictures and learning more about how to do stuff. If it looks to complicated, I'll just have you do the headstuds on mine lol. It's nice to know that there is a diesel performance shop in Montana! I live up in Helena so i'm not to far away. Hey could you PM me some prices on 4" turbo back exhaust? If the price is right and if your open on saturday's and if i'm able to get a semi turned around at your place I may be interested. I go thru Livingston every week. Thanks!

All i got to say is that im glad i took my truck to River City Diesel. Because if i would have managed to get my heads off, i would have crapped my pants if saw what was there!!!! Screwed up piston and valves! Ill let the pros handle the tough jobs! Just about anything else i wouldnt mind to tackle :thumbsup
I wouldnt want a mechanic showing up in the ambulance to save my life!:haha
But it would be nice to see a write up on the subject, i know i could learn quite a bit from it even though i wouldnt be attempting the job, good luck on the write up!!! :thumbsup

I just had studs done a couple of months ago, found a dealer to put them in under warranty :happydance, but would still like the write-up. Even just showing the steps getting to the HGs could help the driveway mechanics fix other things. It could really help the non-mechanics know where stuff is that the mechanics all know and talk about. I would like to see the write-up.

Now I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle. We have four hoists, so yes pulling the cab is easy. But while the hoist is tied up with a cab I loose that bay for two days. In two days time I could have four trannies pulled while reinstalling trannies that the builder finishes. Doesn't make alot of sense. There are alot of very competent DIY'ers out there that can tackle this at home if they are given just a little guidance and procedures.
I just thought this could be helpful for alot of difference reasons. EGR Deletes, Turbo Removal, Intake Removal ect. Didn't want this to turn into a (why do it that way, didn't do that correctly ect) only thought it would be useful information.

I've done the EGR cooler delete, HPOP STC fitting, turbo reconditioning and everything else in my sig. myself. I'm just an amateur. Doing the head studs was too intimidating when I looked into it.

Your picture steps would be very helpful and interesting, but I still suspect the job would be too much for the average joe. All the special tools required, proper torquing of the injectors and studs, head lifts, etc.

I think doing the picture would be a good idea , because i am sure there are a lot of guys who could do it. They don't because they are afraid of what all is involved. Some after seeing that will know they could do it and try it and save themselves a lot of money. I am for the write up. I have done 2 with the cab on you will cut your self some. The hardest part with out a doubt is torquing the studs. You have to sit on the engine and give it your all for a couple of them.
