Seriously....It has a "tongue and groove" (for lack of better words) style seal. A semi-sharp plastic chisel works good. Just start with the seam at the bottom, and work up the sides....no big deal.
On my 82 359 the replacement boot is $400 IF you can find one..Soooo, I bought a can of Truck Bed Liner (Spray) a good rain and little wind would drown my sleeper carpet (Now Wood) after a few sprays, no more leaks ! Cheap fix, a bit messy if you ever decide to paint, then again, who looks back there unless your a show truck..:swear
Starclass, Inc. of New Castle, PA 1(800)422-2865 and 412-654-4665 sells rubber boot by the foot - standard Peterbilt walk through takes 17 feet. $6 per foot when I purchased ..long time ago. Never leaked a drop and my cab air ride raises three inches causing the boot to flex as it is fastened to the sleeper that is stationary. Starclass makes a good product.
Roger have you added Starclass to the handy links. Glad to know about them i need to do the boot in my 74 pete
