I have seen vehicles do that when the battery gets low or it's extremely cold out. :shrugs

hhahaha, well it's not funny but kinda, brings back memorys.

question, was it raining or had it rained when this happened?

my old F-350 did this, in the middle of the night!!! scarred me more than once. after some research, I found that sometimes the windsheild can have a slight leak (poor sealing from the factory) and leak down onto the fuse box by your feet in the cab, and short out something in there. sure enough my fuse box was "damp". I thought about getting the windsheild replaced but I dried out the fuse box and it never happened again.

check and see if your fuse box is damp and report back.
