I have seen where a guy installed a 2nd generation manifold on a 3rd generation dodge. The only real benefits is sound. After completing the swap he had that deep tone that the 2nd generation has compared to the raspy sound of a 3rd generation. I am thinking about doing it to my truck and was wondering if anyone done this swap before or had any advice on it? I want to swap to a 2nd generation exhaust manifold and maybe a intake manifold and all aftermarket if i can afford it.
The 2nd Gen manifold does change the sound but also flows better than the 3rd Gen manifolds. I believe it is a direct swap with minor modifications. There is a whole thread on here about it, do a search and it will come up.
Yea the minor adjustment i am guessing from reading on cumminsforum.com is a longer oil line to the turbo and shorten the line from the turbo to the intercooler
So it bolts right on, you will need a second gen Downpipe and also need to modify your intercooler pipe and make an intake such as a BHAF?
