I have been fighting with this thing for the last three hours, I tried tightening it up until I cant turn the yoke and I cannot seem to get the gears to go together for nothing. Can I have something out of time in the backhalf making it not go back together? I drove the dowel pins out as well.

it is possible that it is out of time and the shaft bearings are not lined up with the bearing pockets, its also possible that the shafts are hanging low. i have had to use a screw driver or small bar to help lift the shafts while applying some pressure to the rear case to help get the bearings started. you did say that this doesn't have tapered roller bearings right?

Then its the one peace rooler instead of two peace roller. That is a replacement for the two peasr. i dont like them. They have to be pulled in with bolts all the way. If it was me i would go get the older brg witch is two pease and you put the outer race in the case first and they are easy to install.

I got everything back together, with the help of my mecanic, the shop had ordered the wrong gear for the transmission and it would not mesh together. Got it back together and all the drivelines in and the transmission will not go into high or low it makes air noise but thats it. The air lines are just like they were when I tookl it apart. I can put it in high and shift it to the overdrive with the red button and it will move but nothing in the regular high and low range, what is wrong and what do I need to fix to get it right?

okm heres what we found, and I had my two mechanics that are brothers help me till midnight last night, and we got it. The synchro kit I got from the local mack dealer, its not a mack but they treat me good, was the wrong kit, the pins on the rear part of the synchro were to big for the sliding clutch so it would not go into low, then the sliding clutch teeth did not mate up to the gear in the trans itself. We ended up using the old sliding clutch and the new high side synchro and its runiing like a champ now. The mack manager whom I usually deal with gave me a full refund, of which I did get two new gears and a high side synchro, then I was gonna buy a case of oil and new radiator hoses and he gave them to me free as well so he made it right with me. But its running now and all is well, thanks for all the help guys.
