Up-Pipe Replacement
I am in need of a new set of up-pipes. when i can afford it im going to order the ceramic coated ones from DI.
http://67.19.132.3/dieselinnovations...ts&product=270 I talked to a Ford mechanic to see what all i would need to do to replace them and he told me the easiest way is to pull the transmission. Somehow this seems overkill to me but maybe im wrong. To me it looks like if i pull the downpipe off and the intake off the turbo i could probably get them off. Any tips on doing this?

The Ford mechanic probably is correct, but he has access to a lift and all sorts of stuff that make it easy.
And, he gets paid to drop the transmission to replace the up-pipes. I'll dig up a write-up and let you decide which method you prefer. prt |

![]() That's what I was going to link to as well. I did a write-up that was not as thorough as that, but it was lost in the hack last year. prt |

Those are nice up-pipes, but the coating isn't necessary.
If you plan to build a true performance truck, then maybe, just maybe you want to spend the pocket change on ceramic coating . . . I know where there's a set of Stainless bellowed pipes for sales for $350. I'll PM you the link. prt |
