Here’s a little insight of what my small project of installing 4 more gauges turned into.

You can see the back side of the casting in 2 of the pics and it looks beefy enough to withstand a tap.

Drill it . If you need fittings or hose there is hyquip off 164 in waukesha or pegasus in new berlin

As for the false reading im not sure that would affect anything but i could be wrong. would like more input on that one.

ARP studs, sct, Leveling kit,Airdog set at 62psi with no factory pump, leveling kit,5" stacks, under cab lights, Large in the way Fan shroud Removed, bed Lights being Re-did. Large Alternator(250amps)(130 amps was so 2003). On 3rd set of Hgs(soon to be 4th), 2nd set of heads, 2nd tubro, egr cooler, FICM and more. When i Turn the Key it does return a Favor, not always in MY Favor.

I'm just thinking of the temp drop from running in the hose, maybe I’m wrong. I worry about stupid things like that sometimes.

Well me man'ed up and drilled and tapped the housing. I tapped it to 1/8 NPT installed a SS close nipple and 1/8 SS Tee. Off that I have my pressure sensor on the side and temp sensor on top. Seemed to go really well. I'll let you know of the results once I get the truck together

I had a similar setup like that on my honda. the vibrations broke the pipe thread not once but twice. SS should hold it but with that big sensor hanging off to the side like that i would be Very concerned. This is why i suggest a hose even if its only 4" long its going to damper all vibrations and the likely hood of anything breaking off is slim to none. Just dont want to see my past happen again

I'm going to run it for now if I run into issues, I can bump it up to ¼” NPT or I’ll have to get some SS braided hose to make it look nice. I think it should be fine my, truck doesn’t see much if any off road time so the vibrations should be kept to a minimum.
I still have a lot to put together before its running. Working on fabbing up my egr cooler delete. Hopefully have it figured out tomorrow.
