89 jetta turbo diesel. The injection pump is bad, and the dealer in lex wants $1500 to fix it! I have less than that in the car.

ANY website with instructions to remove/replace/time these pumps would be helpful. I am a cummins mechanic and do not charge that much to replace vp44's or p pumps, so I will figure out how to do the vw on my own if I can get the instructions.

Any help would be appreciated. Also need timing belt installation instuctions

This site is the closest thing i could find to getting a manual for an '89. I would just try to find a repair manual of some sort or possibly go to a dealer or repair shop and see if they can hook you up with a print out of instructions. The pump replacement cant be too hard to do especially if you have experience with mechanically injected engines.
