Unhappy 1994 Chevy 6.5 K3500

Please help. Truck bought from brother and going to pull 27 ft camper with it. Engine runs fine when not hooked to camper. Transmission shifts fine. Looses power when pulling camper. and tranny trys not shifting into high gear. Almost like starving for fuel. Bought new PMD and remote mounted it but still have several diagonistic codes coming up. 78- wastegate fault, 35-injection pulse error, 18- pump cam pulse error, 85- undefined ratio (trans. related) , and 87- high ratio ( trans related ) Can someone tell me what parts I need to buy to get truck running right? fuel lift pump workink fine steady flow of fuel coming from bleed line. Possible oil pressure switch messing up. Thanks...

I won't waste time posting. It won't be long before Mikey the troll comes around. Your probably in Limp Mode, and your waste gate system is not working. Various reasons for it. Check your PM.

Thanks for all you guys help. Problem was injector pump. Mech installed new pump and truck runs like new with full power. Block heater went out. Is there alternate method of heating block without changing heater and draining block and radiator? Its 25 degrees here and truck starts cold. Two guys said they plug in old electric blanket under hood. This sounds dangerous. Any thoughts? Thanks

There is the option of a magnetic oil pan heater, or an epoxy on oil pan heater, and having the trickle charger on low to keep the batteries warmer, both of which help it start better than dead cold, but are by no means a replacement for the block heater.

I would say to replace it, but do as you please, i hate working in the open winter weather, and I am sure you dont either.

Hey guys im new here. I have an 94 k3500 dually 4x4 with the nv4500 and 6.5TD. I have the usual problems with it that ive heard from others. Hard starting. Idles very rough. hesitates. hickups when under a hard pull at times and is weaker than it should be. It has 195k on it. I put a new pmd with "heat sink" and relocated it on top of the intake. It didnt change a thing. I have a steady flow of fuel from the water drain. What else could it be? The pump? Injectors? Any help and advice would be appreciated.

It would be best and more polite to start your own new thread describing your problem in detail.

Jumping in on someone elses thread is considered thread stealing and is frowned upon. You will get more help that way.

Hello guys.. I was helping a buddy to pickup a small dozer. I had his dual axle heavy duty trailer hooked to my 1 ton diesel. when trying to wench dozer onto trailer it wouldnt move. It was out of gear but tracks were stuck from rust from setting up. He told me to pull up and see if we could break tracks loose. I told him I should drop trailer then hook to dozer and try moving it but he said my truck should move dozer a little even with trailer hooked up. Well...I tryed pulling up attached to wench on dozer and transmission started making grinding noise like it was trying to come out of gear. I was in reg drive and not 4 wheel. I couldnt move dozer so we unhooked wench. I took his trailer back to his house and dropped it off. When put truck into reverse, it wouldnt move and started making grinding noise like before. Put truck in 4 wheel drive and it backed up like normal. Only goes into reverse in 4 wheel drive and not reg drive. When driving down hwy with no trailer, when let off accelerator, trans makes that grinding noise but when push on accelerator it stops and drives fine. Any idea what could be problem with trans? My buddy says the trans linkage could be out of adjustment a little. Know this is long winded post but need little help. Thanks...

Did you ever get those trans codes straightened out when you started this thread in 2010? Im not an expert on trans, but i know grinding is bad and no reverse is usually a sign of a dead/dieing trans. Might have been a good idea to put the truck in 4low before trying to budge the dozer to take the strain off the trans.
