Cincinnati to Sheboygan
The girlfriend and I have been talking now for Id say a month about Sheboygan Wisconson and the possibility of moving there. The reason being is we both want a fresh start and want to take on a challenge, and because how beautiful it is there. So far from some research the crime rate is very low, the cost of living is very managable compared to here in Cincinnati, and there are still jobs.
I work in the printing industry and have worked in the corrugated/Printing industry, and dang there is a Georgia Pacific in Sheboygan, they do corrugate boxes just like when I worked at Georgia Pacific here. There is also another big time printing/Corrugate company called Sheboygan Box Company, of which both are hiring currently. That sort of takes care of employment for me. The girlfriend on the other hand isnt having such luck here, that also takes to account for wanting to get out of Cincy, she cant find a decent job, she is been looking the past year for full time work and has been working at Taco Bell coming up on a year. Housing? I have not really looking into it much yet, just a little searching on Craigslist at rental housing and from what Ive seen the pricing isnt bad. Id be looking for a house with garage or an apartment with garage. What about leaving our family behind? Well Sheboygan is 8 hours away from "Home" We really have not talked to our family much about it yet. My family ow days only consists of a few uncles, and both parents, All my grandparents have past away. The rest of my family were not really close to. The flip side is my girlfriend is a real family person and has a big family, there always having get togethers. I talked to her seriously about it and she is still for moving regardless of her family situation. I know your probably thinking that I should just stay here in Cincinnati becuase I have a stable job and know this area. I(We) want to try something new and see what other oppurtunities are out there for us. Id like to get more information on living there. I also want your guys opinions about this, before we do get REAL SERIOUS about this. I am asking you all this becuase you all pretty much seem like family. Thanks guys

1. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that you may be "running" from problems. Trust me, they follow.
2. Your GF is big into her family? She won't stay gone for long. Trust me, I have tried. 3. There are few growing markets out there right now, more than likely it will be just as hard for her to find a job in WI. The difference is, your starting fresh, no history, no idea what ia around. You know nobody. I am not trying to talk you out of this, just consider everything. I have friends that have moved because they wanted a "fresh start" well, the problems they left behind followed soon after. Woman might say they can live without their parents, etc. But they can't for long. Atleast most. I tried taking a Cincinnati girl to Florida and did not work. You are taking her to WI. :

![]() ![]() ![]() I could easily talk my wife into moving to Florida though. I wouldn't even have to try hard. She would be packing my bags. CG, I truly understand where you are coming from. I used to live 4.5 hours away from home. But I saw them more then when I was further, than I do now that I am only 1.5 hours away. But I don't see my parents hardly at all. I moved back and they moved to Arkansas. So now I mostly talk to them by phone every weekend. They are 13 hours away. Being that far away does have bennys and drawbacks. Mine was when I missed my mom's 50th surprise birthday party back in 2001. I can't get that back. My whole family was there, I mean everyone. People I haven't seen in years. Really take some time thinking about this move. If you feel wholehearted on this as well as your GF, then you should. WI is a great state, Taxes are high though, and we gotta kick out the rif raf in Madison (libs). I love it here, and wouldn't want anything different. I am smack dab in the middle of the state. Good luck to you and your GF and whatever you decide.
