egr delete 2006 6.0 powerstroke

hay guys i have a 2006 f-250 with the 6.0 and i know have 80k on it with anly a few problems so far egr got stoped up once and my rear main seal went out but all was covered under warranty. it is fixing to go out of warranty and i was wating to know if i should put a egr delete on it or a oil filter bypass was wondering if my check engine light will come on if i install egr kit and if it does is ther a way to remove the light. I have plans on putting a edge programer on it in the fucture. O yea i have a airaid intake and a 4" MBRP SS exhaust with the converter deleat on it as of know. thanks for all the help i can get.

Go with the EGR delete and put a coolant filter on it. Also stay away from the edge programer and go with a SCT. You will not regret it. Also the only way to turn the CEL off is with a SCT.

Either Dfuser or thedieselsite sells them. You need one to filter all the **** out of the coolant to prevent the coolers from plugging up.

If you keep the cooling system healthy there's no need to delete the egr cooler. Also if you delete the egr you will need a program to keep your cooling fans operating normally. A bad egr cooler is telling you that the oil cooler is plugged. Don't shoot the messenger.

so if i install the egr deleat i will need to buy a tuner to bypass it who all makes the program. I was thinking that you could just bypass it.

Yes you will have to get the tuner to turn the light off. If you don't then you will get to codes telling you the EGR flow is to low. The only one to do this that I am aware of this is the SCT tuner.

There are a few great tuners out there.

Troyer comes to mind, they do PSD tunes but are known for mustangs and F150's...I like Eric's tunes from Innovative Diesel but I don't run them right now (I do have a coolant filter system installed from Dieselsite)

There is a well known tuner in Texas....Justin at Total Diesel Performance.
