LB7 Injector Sleeves

I'm playing Diesel Mechanic and I just removed the 4 injectors on the passenger side because I was told that I have coolant leaking into my #7 cylinder (hopefully not a head gasket leak). So I pulled #7 injector to reseal the sleeve and then decided to pull the other 3 injectors to see how they looked. Does pulling the injectors compromise the seal under the sleeve? Should I pull all the sleeves and reseal? Truck was running fine except for white smoke. 122K miles, out of 7 yr warranty, injectors changed twice. Should I take injectors in to be cleaned and bench tested?

My first call when I noticed white smoke was to my "friendly" dealer who I've been loyal to and who quickly advised me that I was 2 months past the 7yr warranty and there was nothing that he could do. So there goes any Chevy truck in my future.

Any suggestions on my sleeves or injector testing?

Thanks for the response!

Should I pull all the sleeves and reseal? Yes. Better safe then sorry.

Response are underlined above.

As for your warranty. Its 7 years from the date it was put in service. I would post the vin in the vin check section and see when that was. Good luck.

After my "friendly" dealer stated that I was out of warranty I checked my Purchase Contract and sure enough I took delivery 7yrs and 2 months from the date that I contacted them about the problem. I'm playing mechanic because I know this will happen again and I refuse to pay retail/shop $ for GM's experiment. Any mechanical advice or direction to web instructions would be appreciated, I want to do it right. I've been rebuilding autos and motorcycles for 30 yrs, I have experience and tools, just need a little diesel direction. Thanks for responding!

Thanks Merlin

I appreciate the help, a few more questions if you don't mind,

1) Sleeve puller tool supplier (not factory item).

2) Latest and greatest material for sealant under sleeves?

3) Reputable supplier for "Injector Intallation Kit"? Copper washer, O-
rings, etc.

4) Websites with helpful instructions/recommendations?

Thanks All

I found Merchant on the internet awhile ago along with a number of diesel guys recommending. Looks like a great source, I'll probably use unless I can find a shop here in Inland Empire (SOCAL) that I can walk into and talk to somebody.

Thanks for the help! Any info is appreciated, please keep it coming.
