Exhaust Fluid Warning, wont go away

So i got about 3500 miles on it and all of a sudden i get a warning, saying 700 mile range left. I called ford they tell me just to add some more fluid. well I add 2.5 gal, and its still telling the same thing. Anybody know how to reset the DEF sensor.

add more there is only 4 sensors in it, its not like a fuel gage, It has to hit the half full mark to change to 1/2 full

So if it has a 5gallon tank, and i add 2.5 gallons It should be well above the half fill sensor. But its still telling the same range as before I added the fluid.

agreed, 2.5 gal should get it above the half way point, especially since it wasn't empty to start with.
Maybe a sensor went bad.

I have 4100 miles on mine and I haven't seen a warning, nor added any.

The manual doesn't narrow it down much; shows in a pick up, the tank will last anywhere from 1700 miles to over 9000 miles, dependent upon driving style and whether towing heavy loads.

In read on one of the forums that you must add at least 3.5 gallons before it will reset.
