Thinking of buying Chevy 3500HD

Hi folks ! I own a 2008 Ford F350 SWD Diesel. I am seriously considering getting a Chevy 3500HD DWD, Diesel. I think that Ford has priced their truck too high and the new Chevys seem to really seem to out perform the Ford Superduty. I have a 40 FT 5th wheel toyhauler that I tow alot with and for me it is about performance ! Can you all comment about the pulling power and performance of the Chevy 3500HD, fuel mileage and overall performance?
Thanks!

I have a 2500HD GMC and pull about 17000 with it the truck handels excellent and as far as pulling power there is plenty. Fuel mileage with no load I get about 13 in city and backroads, on the open road with the short distance that I tested it I was getting 20-21mpg. Hope this helps.

I have a 2011 DRW and tow my 40ft fifth wheel and can't say enough good things about the truck. It's stable as hell, quiet, smooth, powerful, no bucking, slipping, drive line vibrations, rough shifting. like the new ford guys are complaining about. I get around 19 average on my 107 mile trip form Hershey PA to Baltimore MD four time a month at 67 mph with the cruise set most of the time. I average 15.5 mixed driving. I didn't have any of the DEF issues over winter. I had a 2007 LMM and I thought that truck was great, but GM hit a home run on this one. I was at the Ford dealership getting my mother in law's Ford 500 oil serviced and walked around looking at the new Fords and they do have a little more room in the back seat but a loaded GM with all the bells and whistle, leather and so on look every bit as nice inside as the Ford. Ford does give you more information in the instrument cluster but nothing a monitor won't fix. Here's a picture of my setup. by the way, I know I have the landing gear down in the pics but that's about how level the truck sits loaded with camper. Very little squat.

i'll jump in here. i too am considering a new chevy diesel. only a 2500. currently have a dodge 08 2500. good truck and deleted. my concern is the future with all the new emission stuff. the epa has been given free reign with no congressional oversight. its a big what if, but what if they decide to mandate emission testion everywhere like california. it has already been stated that the epa wants to place california emission standards nation wide. the problem would be my 08 having to go back to stock. i had real problems with extra fuel in my crankcase and cylinder washdown. i am over 60 y/o and want something to last me to my death. a stock dodge wont do that with emissions active. with the chevy at least you have the 9th injector so no extra fuel in the cylinder.
